Hummingbird
Hello tiny friend
In inclement weather
We lock eyes.
You with hope, hunger and color
And I in vain melancholy.

Mocking them to stain you wet.
a mockery of my moping.
And when the drizzle turns torrent
You fly out to the next damp twig
And await the clouds passing to resume your mocking.
