Keep the faith
It's been a long time since I felt the atmosphere of an extreme metal gig.
This is a small congregation. In a small space. Physical contact is imminent.
The bands who play here have not yet had a reason to compromise their art. Or refuse to do so.
This is where the faith remains alive. The envelope is pushed. Old fans meet new. And excitement continues.
For an art form to live and thrive, fearless experimentation and lack of any financial incentive are necessary vectors. The love of the art form and joy of creation are all that is necessary.
Here is to more such congregations. More notes. More bands. More headbanging.
