TSP Player Profile: Mayuresh Gharaniya (Rooney of TSP)

Mayuresh is a remarkable talent and a valuable asset to the Thane Soccer Prodigies (TSP), consistently demonstrating brilliance over the past two years. With a professional background in sports management and a role as an event coordinator in a new venture, Mayuresh has also been playing football professionally for several years. He is well-known in the football circuits of Thane and Mumbai, and his popularity was further bolstered by his volunteer work with the Thane Football Association (TFA) last season. Coaches and peers at TFA regard him highly, recognizing TSP's fortune in having him on their team.

Coming from a middle-class family, Mayuresh's journey into football was not straightforward. His father serves in the Indian Air Force, his mother works at Singhania School, and his brother is employed at Cognizant. Despite his parents' initial reservations about pursuing sports, Mayuresh's passion for football prevailed. Inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo, he transitioned from cricket to football, leveraging his sprinting skills to carve out a new career path. His professional journey began with the Youth Soccer Academy, where he was trained by Taposh Ghosh, an ex-Air India player.

Mayuresh's football career has seen him play for several clubs, including Youth Soccer Academy, Sterling FC, Mangesh FC, and Somaiya Sports Academy, before joining TSP. His favorite football memory is receiving his first professional jersey in the 11th grade. To prepare for matches, Mayuresh maintains his fitness by running daily and focuses on mental strength, particularly when playing in his preferred attacking position. Mayuesh has also turned out to be the dead-ball specialist in the Div2 team this season. Making the corners and freekicks in the final third very lethal, with the likes of Shreyansh pouncing on those shots to score.

Off the pitch, Mayuresh fosters team dynamics by building strong bonds with teammates and boosting morale through encouragement and effort. His vision and fitness are his greatest strengths on the field, enabling him to create scoring opportunities and play full matches. His personal goal is to contribute to his team's success by scoring and assisting in goals, while his team goal is to win a trophy for the coach, Ashu sir.

Mayuresh also brings a lighthearted spirit to the team, enjoying moments like the "Suiiii" celebrations by teammates. If he could have any superpower on the pitch, it would be to maintain possession of the ball. Mayuresh’s superhuman spirit to give his 100% no matter concerns with health, fitness, or even very demanding work schedule. When he is on the ground, you know he is super focused for those 90 mins and will give everything he has for the team. An absolute pleasure to have such a rockstar in the team.
