TSP Player Profile: Mihir Joshi

Mihir Joshi is a promising young talent at TSP, playing for our Div2 team this season. Known for his exceptional presence of mind and innate skill on the field. At just 18 years old, Mihir exhibits a maturity beyond his years, coupled with a touch of heroism that allows him to execute challenging through-ball passes and take those glamorous shots that captivate audiences. While his flair for the dramatic can sometimes overshadow his play, it's expected that with time and experience, Mihir will harness these instincts to become a truly brilliant and reliable player.

Mihir's passion for football ignited when he watched his first match, Argentina vs. Croatia, on his birthday. This experience, particularly witnessing Lionel Messi's mesmerizing play, left an indelible mark on him. Messi, with his humility and family-oriented nature, became Mihir's idol and the primary reason he pursued football. Despite his Indian roots, where cricket often takes precedence, Mihir's heart was captured by football, leading him to play for clubs like Sportians FC Nagpur and Oranje FC 2nd Division before joining TSP/MSP.

Off the field, Mihir is preparing for a career as a company secretary, showcasing his dedication to learning and personal growth. He describes himself as a family-oriented individual, trustworthy, and a good listener, always eager to acquire new skills and explore the world around him. Mihir's self-awareness is evident in his acknowledgment of being his own biggest fan, motivator, and critic, driving him to achieve greatness.

Mihir's approach to football is both strategic and personal. He emphasizes the importance of team dynamics, believing that strong relationships and open communication about mistakes can lead to collective success. His pre-match routine includes staying hydrated and consuming dry fruits and fruits, which helps him maintain focus and manage pressure. Although he humbly admits to not being the most skillful player, he has mastered the art of body feint and uses physicality to his advantage on the field.

A humorous anecdote from his school days highlights Mihir's playful nature. During a match where a friend, acting as referee, seemed biased against him, Mihir humorously retaliated by targeting him with the ball, leading to a light-hearted chase around the field. This story reflects Mihir's spirited personality and his ability to find humor in challenging situations (and glad that he doesnt do this during TSP matches. the TFA refs wont be kind )

Looking ahead, Mihir is optimistic about the future of Indian football. He believes that with the support of talented young players and influential figures, Indian football will rise to new heights, potentially producing stars akin to Eden Hazard and Edwin van der Sar. Mihir's dream superpower of unlimited stamina and speed symbolizes his relentless drive and determination to never stop pushing forward, both on and off the field.
