TSP Player Profile: Rutvik Insulkar

Rutvik Insulkar's contribution to the formation and success of Thane Soccer Prodigies (TSP) is often understated, yet his role was pivotal. More than just a player, Rutvik was a unifying force, bringing people together long before TSP's inception. He orchestrated the collaboration between Ashu and me in the LAFT league, playing for the team Goal Diggers.

Ashu, initially an undervalued player at Amara, later turned out to be a remarkable coach and the owner of a football club in Mumbai (MSP). Rutvik's insistence on partnership with me was rooted in his belief that "there is no Goal Diggers if you and I are not together." While it may not have made football sense it felt more of an emotional decision and it felt right. This laid the foundation for what would become a tipping point, uniting us 40-50 individuals to establish TSP.

Before Jay, the OG coach at Amara (Sensei), Rutvik was the one training aspiring young players. Many of whom now play in reputable divisions across Mumbai. His prowess on the field is undeniable, with his pace, skills, and exceptional football sense, making him one of the best players at both Amara and TSP.

Rutvik's quirks are as memorable as his skills. A game wouldn't start without him experiencing a bout of pre-match nerves, often resulting in a quick vomit. His unpredictable shooting, sometimes hitting everything but the goal, and his uncanny ability to strike the crossbar multiple times in a match, are legendary.

Beyond football, Rutvik's multifaceted personality shines through. Inspired by his elder brother, a professional cricketer, Rutvik was a tough adult playing with us. balanced humor and assertiveness and explored working at Decathlon for pocket money. We saw his transformation into a responsible adult when he wanted to support his family during Kaku's hospitalization, irrespective of whether it was expected from him or not. Showcasing his sense of ownership and responsibility.

This maturity extended to his career ambitions, leading him to work at Hotstar, a dream company for many sports enthusiasts. Recently, Rutvik reduced his social presence and football activities to focus on his CAT prep. His dedication paid off, achieving an impressive 93+% in his exams, opening doors to prestigious IIMs or top MBA colleges.

While the future remains uncertain, one constant is our pride in Rutvik. His efforts and persistence have not only shaped TSP but also set him on a path to a bright future. We wish him the best as he pursues his ambitious goals.
