TSP Player Profile: Unmesh Patil

Unmesh Sunil Patil is a promising young footballer, currently playing for Div2 team of Thane Soccer Prodigies (TSP). At just 19 years of age, Unmesh has already made significant strides in his football career, showcasing his skills as a striker and left winger. His journey in football began in the 5th standard when a school match piqued his interest, leading him to admire international players like Neymar Junior. This admiration has fueled his passion for the sport, driving him to improve his skills and contribute to his team's success.

Unmesh's professional journey has been shaped by his experiences with various clubs, including Panvel Karnala and Mumbai Blues. These stints have provided him with valuable insights into teamwork, management, and overcoming challenges. His time at Mumbai Blues, where he played in the TFA 2nd Division last year, was particularly memorable for him. It was here that he honed his skills in management, anger control, and coordination, which he now applies with us at TSP. Under the guidance of his coach, Ashutosh Rathod, Unmesh has become more disciplined, focused, and strategic on the field. Unmesh is mentally strong too. Whenever a senior player shares feedback with him, he takes it in good way and works on it. This season his fitness was into question because of injury or dehydration. He was sharing his routine and plan to work on his physical strength to not fall down, and be there for the team when it matters the most.

Off the field, Unmesh comes from a supportive family of four. His father, Sunil, was a state Kho-Kho player (for Maharashtra) and now works as a civil site engineer. His mother, Suvarna, previously a craft teacher, is now a housewife, while his sister, Manjusha, is a quality engineer in the construction industry. This supportive environment has undoubtedly played a role in Unmesh's development as a wonderful kid that he is.

Unmesh's dedication to football is evident in his preparation for matches. He sets clear goals, such as scoring and helping his team win, and ensures he is physically and mentally ready by getting adequate rest and nutrition. His commitment to maintaining a positive and supportive attitude contributes significantly to team morale, fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect among teammates. In spite of not staying in Amara, Unmesh has been very regular and punctual for all match. Team that has been struggling with availability of players for various reasons, its a blessing to have someone like Unmesh who is available. Its such an asset to be reliable. Every coach loves players with such dedication and sincerity. 

As a player, Unmesh aims to improve his skills in dribbling, speed, ball control, and decision-making. He is particularly focused on enhancing his effectiveness in creating opportunities for his team and utilizing his goal-scoring abilities. His greatest strength on the field is his right foot, complemented by the unwavering support of his family and teammates.

Looking ahead, Unmesh has set personal and team goals for the season. He aims to score more goals and put in extra effort, while his team focuses on maintaining composure, executing good passes, and ensuring successful goal-scoring opportunities. Unmesh's dream is to see India play in the FIFA World Cup in the coming years, reflecting his hope for the future of football in the country.
