To the elder daughter!

Hello, from an elder daughter to all the elder daughter’s.

Being an elder daughter is a journey filled with love, responsibility, and unspoken strength. From the moment you step into the world, you become the guiding light for your siblings, the one who holds everything together, even when life gets tough. You may not always hear it, but your presence means the world to your family. The sacrifices you make, the lessons you teach, and the love you give shape not only those around you but also the person you become. Keep shining, for your heart is the foundation that keeps everyone moving forward, even when the weight feels heavy.

Yet, through it all, you continue to love deeply and give endlessly, asking for nothing in return. Your heart is big enough to hold your family’s dreams, fears, and hopes, all while building your own. It’s in those moments when you feel alone or unnoticed that you need to remember just how much your presence means. Your strength doesn’t go unnoticed, your care doesn’t go unappreciated. You are the heartbeat of your family, the unsung hero who makes everything a little bit easier, a little more beautiful.

So, even when the weight feels too much to bear, know that the love you give – the warmth, the care, the guidance – ripples through the lives of those you touch. You are irreplaceable. And though you may not always hear it, your family is forever grateful for you, the elder daughter who carries so much with so much grace.

You are appreciated more than words can say.

Best Regards,

An elder daughter.

Every damn year, the breakdown comes swiftly, like a storm untold, heart racing, mind spinning, losing control. What seems like joy then feels like a weight, an imbalance growing, too heavy, too late.
