Written(Read RETURN) of the writer

One fine day, I forgot what this platform was called and for some reason I kept searching for “Writely”. Thanks to annual clean up of my email box (Diwali, woohoo!), I found Thinkdel again!

Today, we write about Boredom.

I do have very distinct memories from my childhood. Times when I used to just sit by the door and look at the leaves glistening in the path of sunlight. There was no electronic source of entertainment. Growing up, we didn’t have a TV for a very long time and when it came, we have moved on to a small screen for entertainment.

The ability to get bored sounds like such a super power today! We have reached a stage where we cannot go by without seeking some sort of entertainment which comes from a screen.

This isn’t a rant! I don’t care as much of this addiction to keep ourself stimulated all the time that we only pass out at night looking at a screen and not just go to sleep.

Is reality so harsh? or the dopamine so enticing that we’ll not even raise our heads to look around? Why do I see parents making a influencer out of their 3 year old?

Actually, this is a Rant! I’m going to go about it everyday until I get all of this out of system.

Why? I see people change their behaviours constantly based on their influencer content consumption? Why can’t we make decision anymore just from our own life experiences? Why do we need someone to tell us what is better product to use? Is it social necessity of a human to contribute back?

I don’t like to see the world through the camera of my phone, folks store harddisk’s full of photos and videos but won’t stop recording to have a moment with their kids, parents, friends etc.

I’ve never regretted not taking a photo of a place or moment as those moments still live in memories and I do relive them when I am around those people talking of the old times.

What would it take to stop? Slow down, may be? Appreciate what’s around us, the plants, the trees, the people? My surroundings were a much greener place when I was a kid!

That is some relief, until next rant
