Rant-o-photo

Most of us have smartphones that are fairly capable of taking good pictures. With better knowledge and repetition, photo quality increases exponentially.

I also acknowledge that the world we live in has more billionaires and millionaires than anytime in the past. These people have to be catered to.

“Legacy” has to be celebrated and Brands have to be given due respect.

But why pray tell does a camera have to be like this? Can it even be called a camera if it is never going to be used and just sit in someone’s collection, gathering dust?

And from legacy, we come to the future, where, fuck taking a photo. We can just generate what we want. Why bother with technicalities and composition and storytelling and capturing a moment?

Aren’t we all objectively just artistic unicorns who deserve to be deified every single day for who we are regardless of reality? (Answer: No.)

This last one is a little niche, but I need to exorcise it. SD cards have been awesome - every generation has gotten faster, better. If you want faster and denser storage, you can get solid state drives.

Someone thought - lets create something much worse and expensive and make camera companies incorporate it. That’s the CF Express card.

End of rant.

365 Days Challenge

Dusted off my old Canon 'point and shoot' from the attic in 2019, the one I bought in 2010, and started playing with it for in-house ‘Food Photography’. It appeared as though a child was presented with a plaything for amusement. Since then the ‘light and shadow’ saga has begun!&n...

Embracing Life Beyond the Highlights

Time has started to fly lately and I do not mean it in the cliched, overused way. I really feel that because of the constant overconsumption of information, in terms of reels, commercials, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, TV, gripping series, and so on. I remember our school period ...
