thinkdeli
thinkdeli is a light and fast writing app. It lets you take notes instantly without any need for navigation or searching.
Start Writing. Fast.
Open the app and start writing. It takes less than a second to go from your first thought to your first word. There is always a new note ready for you.
Retain Focus
There are no distractions on thinkdeli. Even then we included a focus mode. Just hit cmd+k
or use the shortcut f
.
Work offline
You read that right. All your changes are stored locally. You can continue creating and searching notes even when you are offline. When you connect to the internet again, all your changes, even from multiple devices, get synced in a smooth transparent operation.
Markdown
thinkdeli is a minimalist writing app. There are no editing toolbars. Instead we support Markdown.
p.s. - You may find that some of the markdown shortcuts are not yet supported. I am working to include as many of them as possible.
Publish
There are some notes you may want to publish and share. Once you publish, your note becomes available as a web page over the internet.
Keyboard shortcuts
thinkdeli ships with a cmd/ctrl-k
interface. You can use that to search through your notes or select from the list of commands. I aim to remove the need for using the mouse completely.

My plan with thinkdeli
I started thinkdeli almost exactly a year ago. I wanted to build an app that would let me start writing in a second, and would work offline. With these modest goals, I started building.

Writing - Motivation and Habit
Over the past year, while building thinkdeli, I have been surprised to learn this one thing about writing. Writing doesn’t happen. You have to make it happen.
