Day 6 - Beach days
The salty breeze welcomed us as we got down at the bus stop. The beach was crowded as expected on a Sunday evening. We walked towards the waves. The sunset was about to happen. The horizon reminded us of our minuscule presence in the world.
We were standing next to each other. Our fingers brushed each other slightly. I could sense the adrenaline rush in me increasing every minute. We decided to sit on the sand for a while to enjoy the sunset. There were the peanut sellers moving across the group of people sitting huddled on the beach like us, corn hob sellers stationed their cart, working on preparing the snacks, with the sparks flying like fireworks in the sea breeze.
The tension was high. There was nothing much to say. We looked at each other. There were too many people to notice the two of us sitting close to each other, holding our hands immersed in our own world.
The sun, as it went down, left an orange glow across the sky, like the burning fire in us. Unkempt, unabashed and unruly. As the darkness set in, we got up and dusted ourselves off and walked back. It was our last walk together. Just like the end of a beautiful day, we too said goodbye to our beautiful time…

It is Sunday. I woke up early today. I am not sure why. I think I had to go to the bathroom. Or had I set my body clock to go off before Sanika’s 7:30 AM dance class?
