Episode 1.2 #Littlethings
Faith. Belief. Miracle
So, I'm all about that spiritual vibe—faith, positivity, and the whole miracle thing. Lately, I've been diving into this mythological book, and there was this line that really hit home. It talked about how applying chandan to your forehead is like a belief. The stick takes years to grow, but eventually, it gives you that color. It's kind of like how I believe everything will work out in the end.
Anyway, I was at the temple today, doing my usual darshan routine, and as I was heading to the parking lot, this adorable little girl, maybe 4 or 5, came up to me. She asked if she could put a tilak on my forehead. I told her I didn't have any change to give her, and she was like, "No worries, didi, I don't need money, just let me do the tilak." She did it, gave me a big smile, and I couldn't help but ask if she'd eaten anything. She said she hadn't because they didn't have enough money.
I felt a pang of sadness and asked if she wanted something to eat. She mentioned her mom was selling fruits nearby and that her little sister was also hungry. So, I got them some wada pav and grabbed some for myself too. A few minutes later, she ran back to thank me and asked if she could sit and eat with me, and gave me a smile, her million dollar smile took my heart away. We started chatting, and I asked if she went to school. She said no, they didn't have the money, and sometimes they even went to bed hungry.
She noticed the prasadam box I had and asked about it. I shared some with her and explained it was from the temple. She told me they weren't allowed in the temple because they didn't have money, and she wondered what God looked like inside. That really got to me.
On my way home, I couldn't stop thinking about her. It made me question why people equate money with God and why anyone should have to go hungry. I still believe everything will be okay one day. What do you all think? #faith#belief #humanity
