Food for thought?
As someone who is generously proportioned, I have followed the Body Positivity trend / movement with distant interest.
It was past time for a backlash against prevailing beauty standards, not to mention calling awareness to the ill effects of said standards.
A very tiny part of this whole thing, does however did bother me.
When did self love and care become conflated with an undying dedication to being fat?
Did we forget biology? or the fact that we are out of breath just climbing stairs?
Diabetes is a cruel and unforgiving master.
Self love without knowledge and action will quickly turn into self pity. With disaster in its wake.
Seeking knowledge and help is a sign of strength.
