The Climb

This was a recommendation from a good friend - borne out of a dinner conversation and talking about the great outdoors and pushing yourself to your limits and beyond.

What the book describes is terrifying and awesome - something I would not want to be a part of. I have never understood the allure of climbing the Everest - maybe I am too mediocre and have never had any wish to push the envelope. Even for adrenaline junkies, this might be a bit much.

The images of dead bodies and oxygen cylinders lying discarded on the slopes of Everest has nipped forever in the bud any intentions in that direction.

Reading about it is thrilling and macabre enough - I choose to live vicariously through it. Not unlike my encounter with “Kitchen Confidential” by Anthony Bourdain.

Good, quick read - if you choose to do the same.

Have you ever stopped mid-scroll on your phone and wondered: what happens after we hand everything over to machines? That quiet unease? That creeping fear? That’s the pulse that drives Zero Bomb by M.T. Hill — a novel that doesn’t just imagine a dystopian future, but one that fee...
