She was interested in everything arty, crafty, flowery, rhythmic, colorful! And she was vocal about it. Always.
I was the recipient of the same. Knowingly, unknowingly. Always.
She ensured to take me to all places where artisans thrived. All exhibits, workshops, events. They showcased their artistic creations. The place had stalls from all the states of India. Each stall had varied fabrics, varied styles, colors, embroidery, hand blocks, dyes etc! Bliss ✨️

Pre shopping, was the showcase and the detailed explanations at every stall. “Read the state names and name of their art. Keep reading everything you see everywhere. You will eventually naturally remember all. Its interesting!” - my mother would say, her eyes sparkling with excitement✨️.
This early exposure planted a seed within me that has since grown into a appreciation for handicrafts and handlooms. I am a die hard fan, very proud of Indian artisans’ work and their art. All the fabrics I chose today are well thought over.
The transfer of likes from parent to offspring maynot always be absolute. In my case, looks like a case of genetics inclination. Anyways, the lessons of my childhood have indeed borne fruitful arty results!

I have worked / lived in Qatar for 4 years. This color reminds of its national flag, and hence my memories have this color all over them :)
