When the Joy hurts!
Oh gods of wisdom & light-
Your arrival, departure, your splendor, the grand celebration, bring forth not just light, but a painful vibration.
The noise that erupts, like thunderous rain, either leads us to hospitals, or corners in pain! Ears shut tight, we yearn for relief, from the sound pollution, causing us grief!
I had all at once, in a dizzying swirl, the disastrous firecrackers burst, the sweets did unfurl, festivities danced with the beat of the horrendous Dhol!
Every damn year, the breakdown comes swiftly, like a storm untold, heart racing, mind spinning, losing control. What seems like joy then feels like a weight, an imbalance growing, too heavy, too late.
Dear lord of the beloved devotees, don't test my limits, don't push me too far!
I can be harsh, fierce as the storm if I must rise to keep my child warm.
With the love that your followers bestow, someday in return, I pray for them wisdom, empathy, compassion to grow!
