Engaging in a daily writing practice…

Engaging in a daily writing practice of at least 100 words requires a well-organized strategy to ensure consistency and stimulate creativity. Like some of us, should random topics prove ineffective, adopting a more focused and deliberate approach may be beneficial.

We have listed some pointers below. Feel free to adjust the plan as necessary to maintain interest and alignment with your writing objectives.

  1. Weekly Themes: Pick a theme for the week, like personal growth, childhood memories, topic discussion, hotels you visited - their reviews, etc. It gives your writing some direction and depth. (eg. https://thinkdeli.com/post/white-1172)

  2. Personal Journaling: Dive into your own life. Write about a big event, a recent challenge, or a memorable interaction. (eg.https://thinkdeli.com/post/day-1---i-have-no-idea-1142)

  3. Daily Reflections: Jot down the highlight of your day. It could be a lesson learned or a moment that made you smile. (eg. https://thinkdeli.com/post/moods-july16th-27th-910 )

  4. Descriptive Exercises: Practice your description skills. Describe your surroundings, a tasty meal, or a walk you took, using all your senses.

  5. Gratitude Log: Start or end your day by listing three things you're grateful for. It's good for writing and mindfulness.

  6. "What If" Scenarios: Let your imagination run wild. Write about hypothetical situations like traveling back in time or living in a different city.

  7. Focused Storytelling: Write a short, ongoing story. Add to it each day to build a cool narrative. (eg. https://thinkdeli.com/post/red-mars-grey-moon-green-earth---chapter-2-1151 OR https://thinkdeli.com/post/episode-1-echoes-of-the-past-1168)

  8. Lessons and Advice: Share something you've learned recently, whether it's life advice or a tip from a book or book review etc. (eg. https://thinkdeli.com/post/anna-he-apoorna-bramha-1010)

Day 1 - I have no idea

Trying my hand at writing for 30 days straight. I have no idea what I am gonna write though. Sometimes I feel I’d probably write more if there was a knife which would start running behind me the moment I stop writing. Isn’t every day like this? I don’t clean the room until it’s s...
