Who are you?

I have been thinking about what it means to find one’s voice. Wanted to explore this theme a little. Trying something for the first time in my adult life - writing a poem.

Who is it? Is this you,

Or someone else speaking through?

Think, then answer,

Where is the real you?

You sound like your terrible boss,

Like that righteous news anchor

Who no one dares cross,

Like your popular friend,

Or that famous actor,

Your old school teacher,

Or that foolish cricketer,

Sometimes like your dad,

Showing glimpses of your true self

Only when you are mad.

I rarely meet that person;

I seldom talk to that you.

Do you even remember,

Who are you?
