Small Wins
I have a strange relationship with productivity. Like most people, I am not productive every day. But I have a pattern. I am productive for around 3 days in a row. Then my productivity dips to zero, with a thud. On such days, I am not productive at all. I need to slack off. Unchecked, I can’t get anything done.
This pattern is ok when you are working alone. But when you have a team and customers, it doesn’t help at all. For such days, I have a hack. I micro dose on dopamine. Let me explain.
On days where I am feeling non productive, I try to create opportunities for small wins. I start of with a tiny task. For example, I will make some small UI changes to a page - fix a button, change the text, or update the color. I shouldn’t have to think too much about this task. Once complete, it registers as a win. I will move on to the next small task automatically. Finishing one small task after other builds up momentum. In no time, I am in the flow state and am getting shit done. Suddenly, the day isn’t going to be wasted and there is going to be a lot less guilt. As they say, bird by bird.
The big hairy audacious goals don’t get tackled on the slack days. That’s ok. I get the time and space to think a little more clearly and get in the zone for the next three days.
I had written about Orchestrating Flow sometime ago. A lot of the ‘get your ass in the seat again’ stuff is important. But it is equally important to understand how you function, and optimize for it.

Easy is not Lazy
\"Easy is not Lazy\" provide a framework for achieving tasks efficiently without equating ease with laziness. Here are the key points:
Day 15 - Routine
Making habits is so hard. Some routines give contentment and some give fruitful results but for some routines we don’t see any results. There may be results but it’s not visible enough. Like the daily writing we are doing now. We wonder how it helps to blurt out the ramblin...
Reading Habit
My monkey brain is in overdrive when I am alone. I can’t read. I can’t write. I can’t watch an entire movie. I can’t code. Well this is all I can do when I can. There is not much else to me.
A hard day
Don’t let the title worry you too much. Now as I think about it, it wasn’t that hard a day. It felt hard, though, while I was living it.
The Minimalist Mindset
I used to be one of those who tried to do everything at once. You know the kind, of juggling a million things, trying to be the best at everything - school, work, home stuff, being the best daughter, mother, wife, friend, you name it. I was always told I was the \"Pillar\" of the...
How to read more — habit creation
Well, start by allotting time in your calendar like it's a task you have to complete. Just 15 minutes should do. Not more. Phone on silent. Do this religiously no matter what for 2 weeks. Habits compound, and to kickstart a habit, you need discipline.
The Joys of life!
I think everyone has some special things where they are completely in the moment. For me dancing and coding are those things which give me the ultimate joy of being in the moment. But lets be real, for both it won’t happen right away. You need to invest time to get to that state...
Dad was happy
Year 2008, I was in 7th standard. Infact I had just completed 7th standard.
